Today, I'd like to link to several fandoms that are interesting for Yuletide. Some I am planning to offer, others I am sad that I cannot, due to time constraints and/or being hard to find in this barren country.

All of these were found in the Fandom Promo Post, you can go straight there if you wish to promote something of your own.

Hilda, the plus-sized pinup girl!
Hilda is a very pretty pinup girl! Hilda is also a bit curvier than most of her pinup-peers. You see, the artist preferred curvier girls, and this is so apparent in every single brushstroke. Hilda exists because someone loved her, she was the perfect girl to many a pinup connoisseur.

The King of a Rainy Country
A 1956 coming-of-age story about a girl who goes to find the girl she once kissed. The description makes it seem like something that would appeal to the romantic-old-novel crowd. (If you are able to find this anywhere, I am very jealous.)

Shtisel
I had luck finding this on Netflix(Swedish). The reccer explains better why this is a lovely show; but it really, really is lovely! It chronicles the ups and downs of a Charedi family in Israel. It's got an absolutely darling love story, and feels very humane in its approach to people living by strong religious beliefs.

Psmith
Psmith is a classic by Wodehouse. The series started out with Mike, a typical cricket-playing jockish boy at boarding school. Shenanigans had him switch school, and the first companion he met was the lanky, talkative dandy Psmith, who initiated their career of shared insanity by claiming stakes on someone else's study. The two are from then on inseparable, and embark on many Wodehousian antics.

Ringu I The Ring
Classic Japanese horror franchise about a cursed video tape. Being a Japanese film, it tends towards more of the 'atmosphere' and 'strange things happening' than going straight for the jump-scares of Western horror.

You encourage me too much! But thank you for promoting my ridiculous love of The Ring!

And I noticed this Shtisel too! I'm planning on watching it super soon!

I adore Yiddish but the only thing I ever remember how to say is "kiss my arse" which... kind of sums up Yiddish quite well, I feel.

I'm surprise it's so small as well, like there's so much exciting lore but no one dwells on it at all which makes me really super sad. Plus, I deeply associate with Sadako and her desire to express her rage through useless media that no one uses now. :p

Oh, I wish I could speak more. Both Yiddish and Ladino fascinate me because my upbringing didn't account for either because everything was already changing by the time I was born.

Haunted fax machines are my new thing! I also adore the fact that you *have* a fax machine!
